Funky Hair Challenge

So it's been a LONG time since I've actually sat down and created/colored a card.  Life tends to take over and leaves little time for creativity it seems, especially with racing season underway.

But I am taking part in Little Miss Muffet's Funky  Hair challenge.  Here's my creation.

I'm still learning to use the airbrush, but I am having fun as I go so I guess that's all that matters =)

I used the following:
Swings 'n Slides Lollipop Digi from LMS
Fairy Chair from Make it Crafty
Copic Markers & Airbrush
DCWV Cherry Limeade Stack
Lace from my stash
Sentiment from Whimsical Designs
Ranger Jet Black Archival Ink

My card has been entered in Little Miss Muffet's Funky Hair Challenge

Gingerbread House

With Christmas gifts all wrapped and on their way to their new homes, I took a day to craft for me =)

This gingerbread house is too cute for words!!  It was a freebie from SVG Cuts and I'm so glad I was able to get it and create something so adorable.  It gave me the opportunity to use my new birthday gift ~ the Copic airbrush!!  I'm addicted to it after one use... oh the possibilities!

The gingerbread house is large - uses 8 sheets of brown cardstock and 5 sheets for the icing.  All of which resulted in a trip to the craft store coz I already knew the base had to be kraft so I could airbrush some color like a real gingerbread.  And of course no gingy house can be complete without some adorable cuties in the windows!

I used the following on this creation:
SVG Cuts Happy Holidays set
Recollections Kraft and White cardstock
Patterned paper is from Recollections Jolly Holiday stack
Peachy Keen Stamps - PK1346 Picture Snow Day
Vellum (has sparkles in it)
Handmade dew drops for the lights on the roof
Dew Drops from the Robin's Nest
Copic Airbrush and markers
Ki Adhesive Gems
Archival Coffee Ink
Distress Inks in Antique Linen, tea dye, rusty hinge, walnut stain
Stickles: Baby Blue, Christmas Red, Holly, distress milled lavender, Orange Peel, Cotton Candy, Frosted Lace (almost the whole bottle!!)
Blue ribbon
and of course my Cameo

Christmas decor

So I've been busy with plenty of Christmas cards and gifts and decided to make some new Christmas decorations. I'm a country girl at heart and will find just about any reason to use a mason jar... Christmas is no exception!  When I saw SVG Cuts released their first vinyl set I was in love.  The entire arrangement is made from paper, including the pinecones! The mason jar has been etched to showcase the gorgeous pattern.  I simply love it!

For this project I used the following:
SVG Cuts 3d Wintergreens set
Recollections cardstock
Stickles in Gold, Silver and Diamond
Homemade glimmer mist
SVG Cuts Christmas Gifts Vinyl
Plaid washi tape
Mason jar
Floral wire

Polka Dot Pal Christmas

I love Little Miss Muffet Stamps ~ they are so cute and super fun to color!  Today I am showing you one of the new Polka Dot Pals digi (Issie).  I can remember many cold winter days out sledding so this one was a must have for me =)

I added some glossy accents to the tube to give it a plastic look.  Frosted Lace stickles accent her cute hat.  The center section of the card is embossed with a snowflake folder.  Love how this one turned out.

Candle card

One more blog post today with a Christmas card =) (although I do have more on my Facebook page)

This one is also featuring SK Digi's Sketch (found here)

I love Kraft paper!  It gives that warm country feel that I love!  I turned my card landscape for a different feel =)

I embossed the red cardstock with an elegant snowflake folder.  The panels were all cut very closely to give it a split image feel.  The candle digi is from SK Digi's.  Colored it with Copic markers and added xmas red, yellow and diamond stickles.  The melted wax is covered in Glossy Accents to give it the feel of a real candle.

This card has also been entered in SK Digi's Sketch Challenge # 26.

This year I'm really enjoying the old fashioned Christmas cards I've been making.  They all share the same old fashioned colors and warm cozy feel.

I used SK Digi's sketch layout for this one.  I love the sketches - they are quick and really make for lovely cards.

I spruced up the panels with some red fiber ribbon I had from Valentine's Day.  The Christmas tree has some Stickles for snow.  In the corner is a cute Santa brad.  The sentiment is done with red embossing powder.

You can find the current SK Digi's sketch here.

This card was entered in SK Digis Sketch 26 Challenge.

Another Penguin card =)

Here is one more penguin card in my series.

It's another SK Digis file and I think they are just so cute!

For this card I went very untraditional.  I really like the boldness of red and black together and thought this would be a perfect color combo for this cutie. All the paper is from my recent trip to Archivers - they have the cutest paper!  This little fella got a xmas red Stickle had to add a little dimension to him.

The sketch is the current challenge at SKDigis.

I did change the layout of the strips in the center to offset it just a tick =)
